The government system is a federal republic; the chief of state and head of government is the president. Mexico is a member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
CULTURE:
Mexican culture is a hugely diverse domain that encompasses vast differences in identity. The variety of influences throughout Mexican history, from the ancient Mayan and Aztec civilizations to the domineering European presence, has come to shape and define the enthralling country it is today.
As a result, Mexican art and literature have had somewhat of a tumultuous history, too. There is an extensive array of beautifully preserved Mayan and Aztec buildings, and many of their traditions have been upheld. However, with the effects of colonization, much of Mexican literature borrowed techniques and ideas from Europe. It wasn't until the post-revolutionary period that the arts in Mexico started to develop their own unique characteristics, which soon producing some of the most celebrated figures in international art and literature.
LANGUAGE:
The Constitution of Mexico does not declare an official language; however, Spanish is the de facto national language spoken by over 99% of the population making it the largest Spanish speaking country in the world. The government also recognizes 63 indigenous languages spoken in their communities out of respect, including Nahuatl, Mayan, Mixtec, etc.
The vast majority of the Mexican population is monolingual in Spanish, like much of Latin America. Still, Mexico is the largest Spanish-speaking country in the world, bringing vast Spanish language influence to the United States. In fact, as of June 2022, the Spanish language took the top spot as the most popular language that English speakers learn online, according to language learning statistics from Ling.
Over 120 million Spanish speakers reside in Mexico, while 6% of the country speaks an indigenous language.

The Golden eagle is strongly associated with Aztec and pre-Aztec symbology. Before the Aztecs first established their empire in around 1428, Mexico and its surrounding areas were inhabited by the Olmec, Toltec, Teotihuacan, Zapotec, and Maya.
